Our Basics program is a recreational gymnastic program with classes for both boys and girls. We provide a non-competitive, progressive (Our program follows USAG guidelines for skills and progressions.) gymnastics environment to our student while striving to improve their level of fitness, coordination, strength, flexibility, and self-confidence. These core essentials are the foundation to other sports or activities.
Girls will be trained on the uneven bars, vault, balance beam, and floor exercise. Boys will be trained on parallel bars, pommel horse, still rings, high bar, vault and floor exercise. In addition all students will be learn tumbling on mini tramp, trampoline, Tumbl Trak and Air Trak.
Most basics classes are 60 minutes in length, meet twice a week and are offered to children ages 6 and up. You are welcome to add more than one class per week if you feel your child could use the extra training and is ready for a more intense training schedule. Children that hope to one day be on one of Frontier’s competitive teams could benefit from the training provided through the additional classes as our competitive teams are by tryout and invitation only. A 10% discount will be offered to students who sign up for additional classes.
Basic 1 (Beginning, Intermediate & Advanced)
Basic 1 is our entry level developmental class for ages 6 and up. Students are expected to participate in all aspects of the class, and be respectful of equipment, classmates, and staff.
Basic 2 (Beginning)
Basic 2 is our intermediate level developmental class for ages 6 and older. Students are expected to try new skills, perform a series of gymnastics elements and continue to communicate with their instructor. Must pass Basic 1 first.
Basic 2 (Advanced)
Advanced Basic 2 is our upper level developmental class for ages 6 and older. It is expected that the students listen well and communicate with their instructor in order to maintain a safe environment. More emphasis is placed on the artistic quality of skills at this level. Often gymnast proceed to Team 3 from Advanced Basic 2 classes. Must pass Basic 2 Beginning Level first.
Advanced Basics is a new class we are opening up for students who have mastered all of the skills through Basic 3, want to continue gymnastics training but who do not want to compete. In this class, higher levels skills will be taught. Students are expected to listen very well and work more independently on skills, and strive to attain greater strength and flexibility. By invite only.
Acro Only-Currently on HOLD pending removal of Health Department Guidelines
This class is geared towards students who are not interested in doing all of the events but want to learn to do acro skills (skills that pass through rolling or handstand positions). This is a once per week class.
